Six Sentence Sunday - Mafia Secret

Mafia Secret is a romantic suspense novel about a cheerleading coach who is thrust into the dangerous world of organized crime when she learns she’s the illegitimate daughter of a mafia king pin.

The driver accelerated and swerved to match her movement. Spinning, she dove for the safety of the small SUV she had walked past a few seconds earlier. Her hands hit the asphalt and she rolled behind the passenger side, her shoulder banging against the front door. The SUV she leaned against jumped as the oncoming vehicle scraped along its front bumper.

Crunching metal rang in her ears and the car raced past. She lunged to her knees to crawl toward the sidewalk.

New Year's Blog Hop

I always find the beginning of a new year kinda funny. As a mom, I tend to focus more on September as being the start of a new year. That's when our new schedule grabs hold and the rest of my year is mapped out. But you can't help but look over the previous calendar year when New Years comes along. Not with everyone talking about it. I don't do resolutions. Mostly because I don't keep them. Goals are better for me, but even with goals I tend to have this anti-goal thing going inside me. I start to feel constrained and start doing whatever I can to not achieve the goal. Yet, I was very goal oriented in my youth. I competed heavily in horses in my teens and I loved TRAINING toward a show (the goal being to do well at the show).
