Knowing Vera Chance for Love Book Three By: Rachelle Ayala Interview – Rachelle Ayala, author of Knowing Vera 1. What was the spark or initial idea that started your book? The Golden Gate Bridge is a symbol of hope and dreams, the gateway for many Asians immigrating to the United States. It is also the site of many suicides. There is something special about exiting the world at such a scenic and photogenic location. Cruel as it sounds, my first thought was having seven-year-old Vera witness her father’s suicide while hugging her teddy bear. 2. What was your favorite part of writing this book? Zach, Zach, and more Zach! He’s everything a girl could want from his panty-melting grin to his swimmer’s physique and roguish Aussie accent. More than that, he is every kind of wonderful combined in a hunkalicious sweetheart who puts other people first. He lost his leg in a rescue attempt, but instead of turning bitter or giving up on life, he decided to make hi

Probably the belly dance scene. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I actually gave a belly dance party at the Authors After Dark Conference. What is your favorite line from your book? "Dance for me" What movie or television show would you say is most like your book in tone, topic, and/or characters? The closest would probably be Stargate with a hint of The Mummy, but it also has the family magic, Like the Drake Sisters. If your book was made into a movie and yo

Mafia Secret Bonus Scene

Image
In honor of Mafia Secret being released in print I'm going to share with you an extra scene that wasn't released in the book. I originally started the book in Marco's POV, but when I changed it to Lessa's POV this part was cut. For those who've read the book, you know that Jiovanni left a letter for each family member after his death. Here is Jiovanni's letter to Marco: Marco ~ Looks like I’m dead. A part of me hopes it was natural causes, but both of us know that men in our profession rarely die from natural causes. Hopefully, I took the bastard out, but if I didn’t, I trust you and Jio will take care of my killer. You watch Jio’s back. He might not want your help, but he’ll need it with all the opportunist who will try to take advantage of my untimely demise.   But on to the reason for this special letter. I’ve instructed Ryan to give it to you as soon as I’ve died. I’m trusting you to carry out my final wish. I have another daughte

The Shadow of Mudflap (A Foxtrot Team Novel) by Christi Snow & M.F. Smith. All the proceeds from the sale of this book will go to the Lubbock Red Cross. Please welcome Christi Snow to my blog for a quick Q&A... 1. What was the spark or initial idea that started your book? This started out as a project between MF and me. MF is a radio dj in Lubbock, TX. The plan was to write a book for charity....a romance novel. MF came up with the core group of characters...twelve of them with their names, careers, and ages. I developed the romantic suspense story line from there. Because MF is a radio personality, we knew that a lot of the readers of the book would be his local listeners in Lubbock, TX, and Lubbock just happens to be home to a major university, Texas Tech. If you know anything about West Texas, you know football is king out here...and the story flowed from there.  2. What was your favorite part of writing this book? DEFINITELY workin
